An easy-access garden right in the kitchen

I highly recommend everyone make themselves a window garden if you have the room. They smell amazing, add a lovely pop of green and are handy for dinnertime.

Obviously, we planted some herb seeds in some pots. The tough part here is to plan your drainage. After a ridiculous amount of trial-and-error, we ended up filling the bottom half of the pots with rocks and packing the soil on top of it. 

I'm not ashamed to admit I have a good stock of wine corks leftover and they worked perfectly as labels for my garden. Simply jot the name of the herb in marker on the cork and jab it with a wooden skewer.

I use the chives and parsley almost daily and they love the sunlight the window gives them.
