The library wall I've always wanted, paired with a darling reading spot at the window

I have always wanted an impressive library to house my collection of fiction, usually fantasy books. I'm not ashamed, I like the escape!

I was inspired to turn the wall of one of our guest bedrooms into a bookshelf with a reading Nook because the window was already a little bit sunk in. This made a great base for a bench, and why not build an entire shelving unit around it!

This project went well into the wee hours of the night. We were planning on having my parents visit for the weekend and I just had to have it done before they came. I love the pop of red again the white and blue walls. The color scheme is entirely based on an owl painting we have hung in that room.

It was simple lumber and paint, just a lot of measuring and patience. I dream of my little girl curled up in the window seat with some pillows behind her back reading a good book, I hope she gets her passion for it from me!

Ask me how many times I've actually use that reading nook...
